| Anna Vavilova - a celebrated pianist, recording artist, teacher, artistic director, writer, radio and TV host, producer, cofounder and founder of many important artistic institutions, have marked and changed the cultural life of Vancouver and Metro Vancouver for the better! Born in Latvia, Anna Vavilova studied in Latvian Musical College where she won numerous awards for her excellence in piano playing. Since coming to Canada in 1997, Anna graduated from Kwantlen University College ( prof. Jane Hayes) and University of British Columbia (prof. Kum Sing Lee, Dr. Sara Davis – Buechner and Dr. Henri-Paul Sicsic). Ms. Vavilova has taken masterclasses from world renowned musicians: E. Skovorodnikov (Canada),V. Monastyrski (Israel), Aquiles Delle Vigne (Argentina), Martha Noguera (Argentina) and attended piano summer festivals in US, France and Russia. In 2002 Anna appeared with Vancouver Island Symphony (Marlin Wolfe, conductor). In 2005 Anna Vavilova was a finalist at Pacific Spotlight Competition on CBC Radio Two, and has been awarded Vancouver Foundation Scholarship (2005) and BC Arts Council Scholarship (2006) to continue her Graduate Studies. |

While pursuing full time her gradate studies in UBC as a Piano Performance major in 2005 - 2007 Anna Vavilova, founded and managed the music society “Music Encore Concert Society”, which became widely popular in Richmond, BC.
In 2005 - present, her music articles are often featured in Russian newspapers and magazines (“Vancouver Express”, “Vancouver and Us”, “Kaleidoskope”.)
In 2008 - present, Anna Vavilova is often featured on Radio Vera 96.1FM, as a host on a talk show about music and arts.
In September 2009, Ms. Vavilova opened “World of Music & Arts” centre to provide community with a place for music and drama instruction which offers a consistently high standard.
In 2009 - present, Anna Vavilova has produced and managed a Russian Theatre “Skazka”, where main objective is to preserve Russian language among the Russian speaking community in Metro Vancouver.
In 2011 - voted "The Best of Richmond" in 2 categories: Best Music Teacher and Best Local Artist.
Possessing a great skill in working with young and already accomplished performers Anna is also a piano teacher in demand, since her students rank highly in festivals and competitions.
